This is one of my favourite topics in the counselling room. We all have needs- they are perfectly normal. However, people often struggle with the feeling of being selfish if they express them. In therapy we can explore where this assumption comes from and how it affects our behaviour in relationships. What you can also learn through the work with a therapist is recognising how you are feeling and what you actually need from the other.
